at Kubu Crafts
The company is based at Livingstone, Zambia, immediately adjacent to the 'Mosi-oa-Tunya' or Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. They have three retail shops and a workshop in Livingstone and have recently opened a store in Lusaka.
Kubu Crafts manufacture a broad range of furniture and metalwork designed for the home and sell these goods through their retail outlets and export to South Africa, Europe and the USA.
Kubu Crafts employ 50 people on a full-time basis who receive a regular salary as well as training and skills development in a range of woodwork, metalwork and other artisan skills. A staff canteen has recently been constructed.

Kubu Crafts employees help support their extended families through employment with the company which is estimated to directly assist 250 people. In a country where unemployment is estimated to be 55%, the importance of responsible employment is appreciated by hundreds of people.
Additional full time staff are being employed to help expand the business as demand grows for products and new equipment from South Africa is installed to help cope with the demand.
